Mobile, Alabama

These are just a few of the pictures I took while I was canvassing in Mobile, Alabama this fall.
We went to Dauphin Island one Sabbath evening, and here are the somewhat grainy/blurry pictures. We had a lot of fun, and it was a beautiful experience.

While Teresa and I went to the ocean, the boys momentarily stayed at the picnic tables

Until we started taking pictures. Then they came to join us. 

They were pretty happy to have their pictures taken 
Especially when Andy can plank on a piece of driftwood

And take over our picture

He's very photogenic

They finally got bored, or something

Teresa even let me take her picture

and Andy came back 

And joined the next photos too

It wasn't really that dark, but my camera couldn't handle all the colors

And the ocean washed my heart away

Horror Short Story: A Letter to Isaiah

     This is a short story I wrote for a horror workshop class in my English Master's program at UTC. It is based on my experience in my undergrad program at a cult-like Christian college near a tiny town in rural Arkansas. The horror elements include an unreliable narrator, an extremely restrictive atmosphere, confusion, untreated mental illness, spiritual gaslighting, religious abuse, sexual assault, and murder. When considering what to write about during the horror workshop, I decided to focus on my experience at Ouachita Hills College, because I really didn't have to change many details of my experience in order to write it as a horror story. As far as I know, no one has ever been murdered at the school, but due to the realism of other aspects of this story, it may be upsetting for some readers.
